Construction Material Coordinator – DFW Market
Job Summary:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Material Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that materials, tools, and equipment are efficiently delivered, organized, and available at job sites to keep projects running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials, maintaining inventory, assisting with job site organization, and ensuring timely deliveries. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling & Jobsite Coordination
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Organize and stage materials for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
- Track and manage material inventory, reporting shortages or damaged items.
- Assist with general labor tasks, including site cleanup and debris removal.
- Ensure compliance with all job site safety regulations and company procedures.
Driving & Logistics Management
- Operate company vehicles (trucks, vans, or trailers) to transport materials and equipment.
- Ensure timely deliveries to job sites while following proper routes and schedules.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and maintain delivery logs.
- Communicate with project managers, foreman, superintendents and procurement to coordinate material needs.
General Jobsite Support
- Assist foreman and crew members by providing necessary materials and support.
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Organize material at job sites, moving excess material from inside buildings to designated storage trailers onsite.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and deliveries made.
- Package and ready for transport return material as directed by foreman and/or superintendent.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in construction, warehouse logistics, or material handling is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50+ lbs) frequently.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Forklift knowledge preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry materials.
- Work in a construction environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
